2026 Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (EJS) Center Amujae Initiative

Applications are now open for the 2026 Ellen Johnson Sirleaf (EJS) Center Amujae Initiative, the flagship program of the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development (EJS Center).

The Amujae Initiative is designed to inspire and prepare African women to unapologetically take on and excel in high-level public leadership roles. It aims to increase women’s meaningful representation in public service by:

* Enhancing their leadership skills

Each year, up to 15 extraordinary African women already making waves in politics and public service are selected. Through transformative leadership development experiences, the program fuels their ambition, sharpens their skills, and connects them with a powerful intergenerational network.
