The Dalian University Chinese Government Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for non-Chinese citizens interested in pursuing Master’s or Doctoral degree programs at Dalian University of Technology (DUT). This scholarship covers tuition fees, on-campus accommodation, annual stipends of up to ¥42,000, and comprehensive medical insurance for the entire duration of study.
Scholarship Details
Dalian University of Technology (DUT) is currently recruiting Master’s and Ph.D. students for the following programs under the Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS):
* High-Level Postgraduate Program
* Silk Road Program
Duration of Study:
* Master’s programs – 3 years
* Doctoral programs – 4 years
Some programs are taught in English, while others are taught in Chinese.
These fully funded scholarships are established by the Ministry of Education, P.R.C., to enable universities to directly recruit outstanding young foreign students for postgraduate studies in China.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the 2026 Dalian University Scholarship, applicants must:
General Requirements
* Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health
Education Background & Age Limit
* Master’s applicants: Must hold a Bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years old
* Doctoral applicants: Must hold a Master’s degree and be under 40 years old
Language Requirements
* The department or tutor will evaluate your language proficiency through an interview or a written test.
For Chinese-taught programs:
* HSK (within 2 years) is required:
* HSK 4 (≥180) for majors in Science, Technology, Management, and Economics
* HSK 5 (≥180) for majors in Humanities, Social Sciences, and Philosophy
For English-taught programs:
* TOEFL (≥80) or IELTS (≥5.5)
* Applicants who studied in English previously may submit a language certificate from their last institution instead.
* Applicants from English-speaking countries are exempt from providing proof of English proficiency.
Scholarship Benefits
* Full tuition waiver
* Free on-campus accommodation
* Monthly allowance:
Master’s students – 3,000 CNY/month
Doctoral students – 3,500 CNY/month
*Comprehensive medical insurance
Note: International travel expenses are not covered by the scholarship.
Required Documents
Applicants must prepare and submit the following:
1. CSC Online Application Form (completed and signed after submission)
2. Visa page (for applicants currently in China)
3. Academic transcripts (from undergraduate level onward)
4. Study plan or research proposal (in Chinese or English, minimum 1000 words)
5. Two letters of recommendation (in Chinese or English) from professors or associate professors describing your goals, abilities, and potential
6. Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Blood Test Report (in English)
7. Passport photocopy (photo page and one blank visa page; passport valid beyond Sept 2024)
8. Language proficiency certificate(s) (refer to requirements above)
9. Certificate of No-Criminal Conviction
10. Notarized highest diploma (photocopy)
11. One passport-sized photo (3cm × 4cm)
