Asian Development Bank Scholarship Details
Established in April 1988 and funded by the Government of Japan, the ADB-JSP offers around 135 scholarships annually. It enables well-qualified citizens from ADB’s developing member countries to study at 29 designated institutions in 10 countries.

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the ADB-JSP, applicants must:
- Be a national of an ADB borrowing member and a Japanese ODA-eligible country.
- Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
- Have gained admission to an approved master’s course at a designated institution.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree with a superior academic record.
- Have at least 2 years of professional work experience post-degree.
- Be under 35 years old (exceptions possible).
- Be proficient in English (oral and written).
- Be in good health.
- Agree to return to and work in their home country for at least two years after program completion.
- Not be an employee or close relative of ADB staff or Designated Institutions.
- Not already enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- Not a resident or working in a country other than their home country.

- The institution evaluates and decides on admission and applicant
- Institution sends shortlist of candidates to ADB
