The Borno State Scholarship Board (BSSB) is now accepting applications for the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions. This scholarship is designed to support Borno State indigenes who are in their first year of study at Nigerian institutions.
About the Borno State Scholarship Board
The Borno State Scholarship Board, formerly a division within the Ministry of Education until January 1989, now operates as an autonomous body. It is responsible for:
* Conducting scholarship interviews
* Awarding scholarships
* Disbursing allowances to eligible Borno State students studying both in Nigeria and abroad.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the 2025 scholarship, applicants must:
* Be a bonafide indigene of Borno State.
* Be in their first year of study:
- University (100 level / DE 200 level)
- Polytechnic (ND I / HND I)
- College of Education (NCE I)
* Be duly registered with their institution.
* Have completed their first-year registration.
Required Documents
Applicants must upload clear copies of the following:
* Passport photograph (red background)
* Admission letter from school
* School registration receipt
* First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
* Certificate of Origin
* Statement of Result showing CGPA (for returning university/polytechnic/college/nursing students)
Note: All credentials will be verified during screening.
Scholarship Reward
Successful candidates will receive up to ₦50,000 every academic year until graduation. This bursary is meant to ease the financial burden of higher education.
