The NIPES Engineering and Science Scholarship is designed to foster talent and promote inclusivity in the fields of engineering and science. The scholarship awards a total of ₦1,000,000 to five undergraduate students of Nigerian tertiary institutions who are studying science- and technology-related courses.
Scholarship Overview
The Nigerian Institution of Professional Engineers and Scientists (NIPES) is pleased to announce its ₦1,000,000 Scholarship Programe for aspiring engineers and scientists in Nigeria. This initiative reflects NIPES’s commitment to supporting academic excellence, professional development, and innovation in engineering and science.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the NIPES Engineering and Science Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
* Be currently enrolled in an accredited Nigerian tertiary institution
* Be studying a science or engineering-related course
* Be a student in 100 level or above
* Complete at least one free NIPES online course
* Clearly explain the skills learned from the NIPES course in the personal statement
Priority Consideration
* NIPES student members will be given priority during selection
* Non-members are encouraged to register as NIPES student members to improve their chances
Selection Criteria
Candidates will be evaluated based on:
* NIPES student membership status
* Quality and clarity of the personal statement
* Demonstrated passion for engineering or science
* Completion of a NIPES online course and explanation of skills learned
* Alignment with NIPES values and mission
Scholarship Benefits
* Total Scholarship Value: ₦1,000,000
* Number of Awards: 5 students
* Amount per Recipient: ₦200,000
* Duration: One academic year
* Additional Benefit: Certificate of completion of the NIPES online programe
How to Apply
Interested and qualified candidates should follow the steps below:
1. Register on the NIPES website as a student member (for non-members).
2. Complete one free NIPES online course of your choice.
3. Submit a personal statement (500–750 words) explaining:
* The skills learned from the NIPES course
* How the skills apply to your academic or career goals

Your personal statement should address the following:
* Your background and educational journey

* Skills gained from the NIPES course and how they support your academic or career development
