Government of Slovak Republic National Scholarship Program 2026


Applications are now open for the 2026 edition of the Government of Slovak Republic National Scholarship Program (NSP). This fully funded scholarship provides opportunities for international students, PhD candidates, and researchers/teachers/artists to pursue study, teaching, or research stays in Slovakia. The scholarship covers monthly living costs of up to €1,470 depending on the category.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

1. Be a citizen of a foreign country

2. Meet one of the following criteria:

Master’s Students:

  * Enrolled at a university outside Slovakia

  * At least 2.5 years into their degree (same/similar study program)

  * Accepted by a Slovak higher education institution for an academic mobility stay

PhD Students:

  * Pursuing doctoral studies outside Slovakia

  * Accepted by a Slovak university or eligible research institution

University Teachers, Researchers, Artists:

  * Invited to a teaching, research, or artistic stay by an eligible Slovak institution

3. Meet language requirements (English, French, Slovak, or Spanish)

Benefits

The scholarship covers living costs during the study/research/teaching stay in Slovakia.

* Master’s Students: €620 monthly

* PhD Students: €1,025 monthly

* University Teachers/Researchers/Artists: €1,470 monthly

Accommodation and administrative support may also be provided through host institutions.

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following:

* Curriculum Vitae (CV)

* Motivation Letter

* Detailed Study Program

* Two (2) Recommendation Letters (from university teachers)

* Confirmation of Student Status (from home university)

* Bachelor’s Diploma, Diploma Supplement & State Exam Certificate (if applicable)

* Admission/Invitation Letter from the host university in Slovakia
