Louisiana State University Scholarships 2026 (Graduate Assistantships)


The SIMSIS Laboratory in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Louisiana State University is offering exciting research opportunities for international students interested in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), civil infrastructure assessment, and Digital Twins.

Selected applicants will be appointed as Graduate Research Assistants, with access to:

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualifications

* Strong academic background in Structural Engineering and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM)

* Experience with Finite Element Modeling and other numerical/digital simulation tools

* Demonstrated research and scientific writing experience

* Enthusiasm for multidisciplinary collaboration (engineering, computer science, visualization)

Preferred Qualifications

* Hands-on experience with SHM testing on real-world infrastructure

* Understanding of Digital Twin applications

* Programming skills in tools/languages such as Python, ROS, C#, C++, Unity, or Blender

* Knowledge of mobile robotics and AI techniques

* Familiarity with immersive visualization tools (e.g., VR, AR, MR)
