The University of Alberta Graduate Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for international students to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees at one of Canada’s top universities. This scholarship provides comprehensive financial support covering full tuition fees and living stipends, renewable annually until the completion of the program.
Program Overview
The Programmable Integrated Sensors and Microsystems (PRISM) Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering is currently accepting outstanding PhD/Master’s students for July 2025.
Research Focus
High-resolution microfabrication processes for microsystems
Flexible sensors and liquid metal microfluidic systems
Supervision
Dr. Pegah Pezeshkpour, Director of the PRISM Lab, leads interdisciplinary research at the interface of engineering and materials science. The lab develops scalable and reconfigurable microsystems for:
* Health
* Energy monitoring
* Assistive technologies

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must have:
* A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
* Interest or experience (research or industrial) inmicrosystems fabrication
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in teams
* Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
