The 2025 StoryMi Academy Documentary Film Fellowship is looking for four professional Nigerian documentary filmmakers to join a 4-month intensive training, production, and mentorship program. Fellows will receive expert guidance, hands-on training, funding, and mentorship to produce a 15–20 minute original short documentary.
This prestigious program is fully funded by the French Embassy in Nigeria and delivered in partnership with acclaimed Nigerian mentors and international industry experts.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be:
* Professional filmmakers based in Nigeria
* Committed to non-fiction storytelling (no fiction, dramatizations, or reenactments)
* Available full-time from August to November 2025
* Skilled in one or more areas: filming, editing, or producing (you will indicate your strengths)
* Passionate about urgent, local stories related to themes such as:
- Identity
- Environment
- History
- Culture
- Social issues
Note: This program is not open to beginners or film students
