2025 One Young World Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship

The Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship was created to empower young leaders who are committed to addressing urgent and deeply interconnected challenges facing women and girls today. The scholarship provides emerging changemakers with the tools, knowledge, and global platform they need to lead transformative action.

By supporting young leaders working on issues such as child marriage, gender-based violence, and disability rights, this initiative aims to foster a new generation of empathetic, courageous, and visionary leaders striving for a more just, inclusive, and equitable world.

About Hauwa Ojeifo

After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD, Hauwa Ojeifo founded She Writes Woman, an award-winning movement that gives mental health and psychosocial disabilities a voice in Nigeria.

Her work includes:

* Launching a 24/7 toll-free mental health helpline in Nigeria, connecting individuals to trained counselors.

* Creating an online community of over 2,000 mental health advocates and individuals with lived experiences to promote connection, education, and advocacy.

In 2024, Hauwa was selected by Melinda French Gates as one of twelve leaders and was awarded part of a $20 million fund to support organizations improving women’s health and well-being.
