University of Ghana DAAD Scholarship 2026

The University of Ghana DAAD Scholarship is now open for Master’s Scholarship Applications (2026) at the West Africa Centre for Crop Improvement (WACCI), University of Ghana. The program offers a Master of Philosophy in Seed Science and Technology. The DAAD has partnered with WACCI to offer up to 3 In-Country and 6 In-Region scholarships for Master’s studies. Applications are now invited from interested and qualified candidates for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the University of Ghana DAAD Scholarship 2026, applicants must:

* Be graduates with a first academic degree (minimum Second Class Upper Division or equivalent).

* Be highly motivated and demonstrate a strong commitment to the program.

* Have good knowledge of the language of instruction.

* Have completed their last university degree no more than 6 years ago.

* Be nationals or permanent residents of a Sub-Saharan African country.

* Be one of the following:

  •   A staff member of a public university
  • A candidate being considered for teaching or research staff recruitment,
  • From the public sector, or An Alumnus of the DAFI program.

Note:

Applicants who have previously received a DAAD Master’s scholarship are not eligible.

Female applicants, recognized refugees, and candidates from underrepresented regions or groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Benefits

The DAAD University of Ghana Scholarship covers:

* Tuition fees (annually)

* Study and research allowance (€460 annually)

* Printing allowance (once at the end of the program)

* Monthly stipend:

  •   €500 for In-Country Master’s students
  •  €550 for In-Region Master’s students

* Travel allowance (In-Region only, twice – at the start and end of scholarship)

* Health insurance (In-Region only)

Additionally, scholarship holders are encouraged to apply for a short-term research stay in Germany (3 to 6 months).

How to Apply

Interested applicants must follow these steps to apply:

1. Register on the portal

2. Log in to your account.

3. Read the application instructions carefully.

4. Submit your complete application through the DAAD Portal by 27th November 2025.

5. Ensure your application meets all DAAD requirements before submission — incomplete applications will not be considered.
