The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is offering fully funded scholarships to international students to study in China in 2026. The UCAS Scholarship 2026 covers tuition waiver, application fee waiver, monthly stipend (up to RMB 3,500), accommodation, and medical insurance.
About the UCAS Scholarship
The UCAS Scholarship for International Students is open to outstanding individuals from around the world who wish to pursue a Master’s or Doctoral degree, attend courses, conduct research, or pay academic visits at UCAS colleges or CAS institutes. The scholarship also welcomes joint program applicants; international graduate students currently enrolled at foreign universities who wish to study or conduct research in China.
It consists of two categories:
Full Scholarship: Covers all major expenses.
Partial Scholarship: Covers selected items.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the UCAS Scholarship, applicants must:
1. NOT hold Chinese citizenship.
2. Possess a valid foreign passport, be friendly to China, and abide by Chinese laws and UCAS regulations.
3. Be proficient in English or Chinese.
4. Age Requirements:
- PhD applicants: born after January 1, 1991
- Master’s applicants: born after January 1, 1996
- Senior visiting students: born after January 1, 1981
- Regular visiting students: born after January 1, 1986
- Joint program applicants: no age limit
Additional Conditions:
* Meet the admission criteria for international students of UCAS (refer to the Calls for 2026 Programs).
* NOT take up other assignments during the scholarship period.
Scholarship Benefits
Full Scholarship Includes:
a) Tuition Waiver
PhD: RMB 40,000/year
Master’s: RMB 30,000/year
b) Monthly Stipend
RMB 2,500 for PhD students
RMB 2,000 for Master’s students
Additional research assistantship may be provided, bringing the total to:
RMB 3,500/month (PhD)
RMB 3,000/month (Master)
c) Accommodation
Basic accommodation is provided for awardees in Beijing.
d) Medical Insurance
Insurance premium: RMB 800/year
e) Application Fee Waiver
Exempted from the RMB 600 application fee.
f) Duration
Master’s/Doctoral students: up to 36 months (no extension)
Joint program and visiting students: 6–24 months
