Scholarship Benefits
1. Living Allowance: AUD $43,500 per year (pro rata), for up to:
2 years for Master's by Research students
3.5 years for Doctoral (PhD) students
(Includes limited paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave)
2. Full Tuition Fee Offset:
Up to 2 years for Master's by Research
Up to 4 years for Doctoral degrees
3. Relocation Grant:
AUD $2,000 for students moving from other Australian states or territories
AUD $3,000 for students moving from outside Australia
4. Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students requiring a student visa
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the University of Melbourne Human Rights Scholarship 2025, applicants must:
* Have applied for and met the entry requirements for a Master's or Doctorate by Research degree starting in 2025
* Intend to undertake graduate research in the field of Human Rights
* Have not completed a research qualification at the same or higher level
* Have not previously received a graduate research scholarship
Selection Criteria
Scholarship recipients are selected based on:
* Academic merit
* Demonstrated commitment to human rights work
* Strength of supporting documents, including a personal statement
