Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the APU MEXT Scholarship 2026, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Nationality: Must hold citizenship from a country with diplomatic relations with Japan and not hold Japanese nationality.
2. Age: Must be born on or after April 2, 1991.
3. Academic Performance: Minimum GPA of 2.30/3.00 in the most recent academic record.
4. Language Proficiency:
* TOEFL iBT 72+, IELTS 5.5+, or equivalent (B2 level on CEFR)
* Applicants without standardized test scores may submit an English Proficiency Certificate from their previous institution confirming English as the medium of instruction.
5. Residency Requirement: Must apply from outside Japan and intend to study in Japan upon acceptance.
