Applications are now open for the Heidelberg University DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2026 in Germany. All international students are welcome to apply for this fully funded program.
The DAAD EPOS Scholarship at Heidelberg University provides training that can last between one to five years, starting in September 2026. Heidelberg University is Germany’s oldest university, founded in 1386 on the instructions of Pope Urban VI. It is one of the world’s oldest surviving universities and among the most prestigious in Germany. Although the university itself does not directly offer scholarships, it participates in three major international programs:

* Bread for the World
This scholarship equips students with a strong foundation in international public health principles and the skills to manage and implement long-term initiatives in disease prevention, health promotion, and health service development across diverse populations and nations.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the DAAD EPOS Scholarship at Heidelberg University, candidates must:
* Be a citizen of a developing nation (priority), though all international applicants can apply for admission.
* Hold a medical degree or a four-year bachelor’s degree in a social science or public health-related field (at least 240 ECTS).
* Have at least one year of relevant work experience in low- or middle-income countries.
* Demonstrate English proficiency:
* TOEFL (IBT) score: 92–93 OR
* IELTS score: minimum 6.5
* (Exemption: Native English speakers or applicants who completed their university education in English).
German proficiency is not required.
