Seoul National University (SNU) Graduate Scholarships 2026

The Seoul scholarship is offered to new graduate students applying to the university to cover their full tuition fees and to provide up to a living stipend of 2,000,000 KRW per month.

SNU offers several scholarship opportunities for international graduate students, including:

1. SNU President Fellowship Program (SPF)

2. Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS)

3. Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP / now GKS)

4. Overseas Koreans Scholarship

Note: Students may apply before or during the admission period.

Eligibility Criteria

For the Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS), Applicants must:

* Be a non-Korean applicant

* Be enrolled in or graduated from a university in an eligible country

* Must apply and be accepted into Seoul National University

* Must apply to a designated college/school participating in the GSFS program

For the SNU President Fellowship Program (SPF)

* Must be a faculty member of a major university in a developing country without a Ph.D.

* Must be newly admitted to SNU as a Ph.D. student

* Priority is given to faculty from Asia, Africa, and South America

*Living expenses: KRW 1,500,000 – 2,000,000 per month for 3–4 years

*Round-trip airfare (economy class)

*Korean language training (evening classes)

Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS) Benefits

* Full tuition exemption for 4 semesters

* Living expenses: minimum KRW 500,000/month (varies by major)

Overseas Koreans Scholarship Benefits

* Full tuition exemption for 4 semesters (if conditions are met)

* Living expenses: KRW 900,000/month

* Round-trip airfare

* Korean language training (6 months free at Language Education Institute)

* Medical insurance (private)

Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP / GKS) benefits

* Full tuition fee

* Living expenses

* Airfare

* Korean language training fee

* Additional support: medical insurance, research fund, thesis printing, settlement & return expenses

How to Apply

1. Visit the SNU Scholarship Webpage

2. Apply for GSFS or SPF at the same time as your online admission application

3. Colleges/Schools review and select applicants based on submitted admission documents

4. Selected applicants will be notified directly by their respective college/school
