The METI Japanese Internship Program 2025 is a fully funded internship opportunity in Japan for students and graduates from eligible developing countries. This program provides participants with the chance to gain work experience in Japanese companies, deepen their understanding of Japanese business culture, and foster global partnerships.
Financial Benefits
The METI Internship Program is fully funded and covers the following:
Pre-training for interns
Visa assistance to enter Japan
Round-trip airfare
Accommodation arrangements
Insurance coverage for the entire duration

Full coverage of travel-related expenses to Japan

Citizens from the following countries are eligible to apply:
Africa: Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, South Africa, Ethiopia, Morocco, etc.
Asia: India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Philippines, Vietnam, etc.
Europe & Others: Ukraine, Serbia, Turkey, North Macedonia, etc.
Latin America & Caribbean: Argentina, Brazil, Jamaica, Peru, Mexico, Bolivia, etc.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
Be a citizen of an eligible country listed above
Be aged between 18 and 40 years as of August 31, 2025
Be proficient in Japanese (JLPT N3 or higher) or English
Be able to provide:
- Proof of university enrollment or graduation
- Letter of recommendation from university or employer
- Agree to the goals of the program and be willing to collaborate with Japanese companies
Be able to attend all training and complete the internship
Must not have participated in the program from FY2017–FY2024

Summer Internship: Mid-May to Late June 2025
Winter Internship: Mid-August to Late September 2025
