Scholarship Details

This assistantship is based in the Department of Plant Agriculture, focusing on research into seed coat color stability and darkening in cranberry and pinto beans using multi-omics techniques (genomics, epigenomics, hyperspectral imaging). The project aims to identify genetic and epigenetic markers to help breeders develop non-darkening bean varieties, improving market value and consumer acceptance.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must have:

* A Bachelor’s degree in Genetics, Plant Science, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, or related fields

* Interest or experience in plant genomics, epigenetics, or bioinformatics

* Familiarity with genomic/methylome analysis tools, GWAS, EWAS

* Strong analytical, writing, and communication skills

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
