Applications are now open for the 2025 RMI Global Women in Clean Energy Fellowship. This fellowship invites applications from women professionals in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and Zambia, aiming to empower emerging leaders with the skills, networks, and resources needed to drive the clean energy transition locally and globally.
Launched by RMI’s Energy Transition Academy (ETA), this fellowship supports women leaders in the Global South to develop their technical, leadership, and strategic capacities in clean energy. The inaugural cohort, delivered in partnership with local and global actors including AMP, will begin in June 2025.
Eligibility Requirements
We are looking for early to mid-career women who:
* Are currently working on clean energy projects or policies in Nigeria, Ethiopia, or Zambia
* Are passionate about leadership, innovation, and social impact in the energy sector
* Want to expand their network and drive meaningful change in their communities
Fellowship Benefits
Participants will receive:
* Technical training on distributed energy resources and local business models
* Project management skills, including risk mitigation, procurement, and finance
* Group mentorship with women energy leaders across sectors
* Peer networking with passionate women across the region
* A capstone project to develop a clean energy policy, initiative, or strategy for their country
Program Details
Duration: June 16 – October 31, 2025
Format: Online (mix of live and self-paced content)
Time Commitment: Approximately 15 hours/month
Live Sessions: 2 per month (1.5 hours each)
Self-Paced Learning: Around 3 hours per week
