The Commonwealth Routledge Studentship offers a research grant of £5,500 to successful candidates conducting research on Commonwealth-related themes. This opportunity is funded by The Round Table: The Commonwealth Journal of International Affairs and its publisher, Routledge, in association with the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
About the Studentship
The ACU Commonwealth Routledge Studentship was established by Routledge, publisher of The Round Table: The Commonwealth Journal of International Affairs, to support PhD students undertaking research in human rights and Commonwealth-related topics. Applications are welcome from a wide range of humanities and social sciences disciplines, especially in areas covered by the journal, such as:

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet one of the following:
* Be a PhD student at a UK university (not limited to UK citizens), OR
* Be a registered PhD student at an ACU member university in any Commonwealth country outside the UK OR
* Be a Chevening or Commonwealth Scholarship alumnus who is now a PhD student at any Commonwealth university (outside the UK)
The proposed research must:
* Relate to the Commonwealth as a whole or to any Commonwealth-wide institution or organization
* OR have a strong comparative aspect involving Commonwealth countries
* OR be relevant to a Commonwealth country other than the UK
Reward and Duration
*Two studentships are available annually
* Each recipient will receive up to £5,500 in funding
Required Documents

* CV
* Studentship Plan including:
- A non-technical description of the work
- Likely impact of the research
- Intended outcomes and outputs
* Two Letters of Support:
- One academic reference (preferably from PhD supervisor)
- One personal reference
