The DBN Entrepreneurship Training Program is the flagship initiative of the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) to equip Nigerian entrepreneurs with the right business knowledge and support to build sustainable ventures. Now in its 7th cycle, the program offers free online training, grant funding between ₦500,000 and ₦1 million, and the opportunity to participate in in-person business development sessions.
About the Program
The Development Bank of Nigeria is a government-established development finance institution that supports Micro, Small, and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing access to funding, technical assistance, and training. Through this program, DBN aims to strengthen Nigeria’s MSME ecosystem by addressing key business gaps using digital tools and expert-led sessions. So far, over 4,000 MSMEs have been trained across Nigeria.
Program Objectives
* Equip MSMEs with skills to develop strong and viable business proposals
* Improve MSMEs’ ability to access credit and manage funds efficiently
* Promote trade, investment, and access to local/international markets
Target Audience
The program is open to Nigerian-owned MSMEs from any sector who are eager to grow their businesses through proper training and support.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
* Be 18 years or older
* Be a Nigerian citizen or legal resident
* Have a CAC-registered, for-profit business operating in Nigeria
* Be committed to the training schedule once accepted
* Be willing to complete the mandatory BizAid training modules with at least 70% average score

Mandatory Training Courses (on BizAid LMS)
Applicants must complete all 4 courses with a minimum of 70% average score:

2. Sustainability for MSMEs
3. Marketing and Sales Techniques
4. Credit Management / Access to Finance
How to Apply
1. Register on the DBN BizAid Application Portal
2. Complete the 4 mandatory online courses
3. Once completed, you’ll receive an email with a link to apply for face-to-face training
4. Submit the application form (a confirmation email will be sent within 24 hours)
5. Applications will be screened and shortlisted based on eligibility
6. Successful applicants will be contacted via email and phone
7. Face-to-face sessions will be held in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt
